Attending School after 29 Years

I have recently started taking online classes at Liberty University. I am currently enrolled in Instructional Technology for Successful Online Learning and Bible 104 which is a Survey of Biblical Literature. I am, to say the least, nervous about taking classes online because it takes a lot of discipline and I haven’t been in that kind of a structured environment in a long time.

My goal is to achieve a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies which is a study based on the “working knowledge” that I have obtained over the years, I am able to pick my area of studies without having to spend the first year going through a lot of English and Math that I will not need in my desired field.

I plan on focusing the major in Ministry and Counseling. I ask that you will join me in praying for this to be as smooth a process as possible.

On a different topic, My wife and I have been attending The Church of The Highlands (COTH) for worship services after we attend Huffman Baptist (HBC) for Sunday School where we have been attending for several years. Our church (HBC) is going through a transitional period and we are currently without a pastor so Paula and I decided to start attending COTH as a way to get energized on a once a month basis however once we attended the first Sunday we have enjoyed the teaching there that we have decided to go on a more consistent basis.

My prayer is that you have a place that you attend on a regular basis. If you do not, may I suggest that you seek out a Bible teaching church and start attending now. The Bible says in James 4:8 “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you”

I love the evidence we have of our founding Fathers and other heroes of American history leaned heavily on God’s word in establishing our great country. Here is an example of one example of a great man speaking of our freedoms.

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ! For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship.” ~ Patrick Henry
